Improving concentration for study

Many students lack concentration while they sit for study.  Concentration is very necessary for good study as well as to get good marks in exams. Here are 10 tips to improve concentration.

  1. Study in a quite and comfortable environment which is free from distractions and interruptions. Try to get select a place where you can study peacefully.
  2. Choose a study time where you feel, you learn most. Some students learn more in morning while others in nights, so choose the best time accordingly.
  3. Try to study using a time-table it will help you to organize your study as well as your mind will be ready for study according to time-table.
  4. Ensure that when you sit for study, you are not feeling hungry  or tired. Otherwise you will not be having energy to concentrate on study.
  5. Try to develop an interest in what you are studying, try to relate it with your everyday life and other practical situations. It will ultimately help you to understand your subject thoroughly.
  6. Have a break when you feel fatigued. There is no set formula for a break, try to understand your level and accordingly set a break time.
  7. To have a great concentration, focus only single task at once. Focusing more than one task will not give you great results.
  8. To concentrate better break large tasks into a series of smaller tasks that you can complete one at a time. If you will try to complete a large task in one go, it may make you overwhelmed and you may find difficult to keep your concentration level.
  9. When you are feeling tensed, do not sit for study. Better sit for study when you are relaxed.
  10.  For a good concentration clear your mind from worrisome thoughts. Mental peace is very necessary for a good concentration. To get rid of worrisome thoughts read some motivational literature. it will help you to calm down your mind.
Studying without concentration is like trying to fill a tank with water when the  tank has a hole in its bottom. It doesn't work.
