Careers in Polymer Engineering



Polymer Engineering uses the theory and practice of chemical engineering to solve various problems involving the production and use of polymers. Polymer engineers use the principles of process design, plant design, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena to develop new products.
Polymer engineers also supervise the production process of plastics and other polymers. Under their supervision, plastic moulders and technicians carry out the shop floor manufacturing processes.

Eligibility
The basic eligibility criteria is 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry and Maths). There are many BE/BTech program in Polymer Engineering of four years duration. The selection is made on the basis of entrance examination at state and national level.
The eligibility criteria for doing M.Tech in Polymer engineering/plastic technology is a B.Tech /BE degree in polymer engineering or plastics and rubber technology or mechanical engineering.

Career Prospects
Polymer Engineers can work in polymer manufacturing and user industries as a production supervisor, production planner, quality control inspector, mould designer etc. They can also take up jobs in the public and private sectors in: automotive, plastics, electronics, aerospace, power transmission and other related manufacturing industries.
In the public sector, polymer engineers may find employment in Oil and Natural Gas Commission, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas, and Oil India Laboratories, Indian Institute of petroleum, petrochemicals engineering plants, polymers corporations of different states, petroleum conservation Research Association of India, Petrofiles Cooperative Limited and other such organizations.

Careers in Plastic Technology


Plastic has become an essential part of our everyday life. There has been a consistent rise in the demand of plastic due to its low price, versatility, variety, light weight and durability. Careers in Legal Studies

Legal studies is an old career option for the 10+2 students. Since the British era legal career attracted many bright minded people. With the increase in the magnitude  of crime and corruption in our country, law seems to be a good career option for the students who can take the challenge to provide justice to innocent parties.  A lawyer is licensed by the state to engage in the practice of law and advice clients on legal matters. Lawyers act as both advocates and advisors on behalf of their clients. As an advocates, they take either the plaintiff or the defendant and advance their client’s case through oral argument or written documents such as motions and briefs. As advisors, lawyers advice clients on how the facts of their particular case apply to the law.
 
Course Details
Many course options are available in law. One can pursue a three-year law course (LLB) after graduation in any discipline. Otherwise one can go for  a five-year course after twelfth standard examinations, leading to a BA LLB (Hons). The BA LLB programme usually covers practical training including court attendance, hands on training at legal aid centres and research projects. Programmes in law (LLM) are of 2 years duration & one should have LLB degree to pursue this case. Careers in Petroleum Engineering



Petroleum engineers are involved in the exploration and production activities of petroleum. The study covers topics including geology, economics, geochemistry, geophysics, geomechanics, oil drilling, knowledge management, geopolitics, seismology, tectonics, thermodynamics, oil and gas production, reservoir development, well logging, well completion, and pipelines etc.
