Careers in Robotic Engineering

Robotics engineering is concerned with the robots. As in coming future robots are going to play a major role in all aspects of life, robotic science holds a lot of promises. Robotics is related with designing robots, maintaining them, developing new applications and conducting research. Robotics is an emerging area of computer-controlled technology. Robotics is an inter-disciplinary of engineering study. We can say that, Robotics Engineering is a sub field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science.   Robots are used in industries for speeding up the manufacturing process, servicing of transmission electric signals, sea-exploration, nuclear science and designing of bio-medical equipments.

At present robots are replacing human beings where conditions are hazardous, tedious and manipulative in industrial units, atomic plants, space ships, mines and deep-sea vessels. Robots increase work efficiency and reduces cost.

Job Prospects

Robotics engineering is one of the sought after careers in India. There are good numbers of opportunities in this field for robotics engineers both in India as well as in abroad countries. Most of the opportunities are available in manufacturing, military, medical and automotive industries, and space craft. Candidates with a degree of M.E. in robotics can find employment opportunities in space research organizations such as ISRO and NASA as well as in microchip companies.

Robotics engineers get employed in space exploration, laboratories, manufacturing plants, mining and organizations. Teaching in universities and colleges is another good career option.

Remuneration: -

Robotic engineering is one of the most promising and rewarding field at present. A Robotic engineer's income mostly depends upon their qualifications, the institute from which they pass their degree, experience and organization. Initial salary starts from Rs 5-6 lakhs per annum. In foreign countries like the USA salaries are on higher side.
