A career in hardware and networking is lucrative as well as rewarding. A professional who is well educated in computer hardware and networking is known as hardware and networking engineers. Computer hardware is the combination of various physical parts of a computer while networking includes linking a group of two or more computer systems for the purpose of sharing information and data. A trained hardware and networking person is one who can repair a computer and can network the computers.

Under this course students are introduced to the computing world and trained to work with various computer devices and peripherals in this field. Increasing penetration of computers among masses  has created a lot of scope for young aspirants in this sector.

Courses & Eligibility:

A science background in 10+2 level is preferred for students willing to take admission in different degree and diploma courses. Various reputed training institutes, colleges and universities offer programs on hardware. For networking course, a degree or diploma in electronics, electrical, computer science, and telecommunication is required. However, one can enter in this field after completing BCA, BE/B.Tech in computer engineering.

Career Prospects

Recent research has revealed that the hardware sector in India is expected to grow beyond $60 billion in coming years. The main employers of hardware and networking professionals are hardware manufacturing companies, BPO, software concerns, telecom and system designing companies. Trained graduates can be employed in industries, banks, corporate houses, financial institutions and school & colleges. Other then this trained professionals can become entrepreneurs by starting their own hardware assembling business. Teaching in engineering educational institutions is another good option.

Remuneration:

Starting salaries of fresh graduates may range in between Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month. Experienced hardware and networking expert may earn up to Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 per month depending upon qualification and experience.
