The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct Common Admission Test 2012 (CAT 2012) during a 21-day testing window between October 11, 2012 and November 06, 2012. CAT exam is a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes to IIMs and many more institutions who accepts CAT score for the admission purpose.  

This test score is used for admission in the following programs:

  • Post Graduate Programmes in Managemen
  • Fellow Programmes in Management (FPM) [equivalent to Ph.D.]

  • The result will be declared on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

Career in Retail Management

Retail Industry is one of the fastest growing industry in India. Every year hundreds of new retail store are opening across India. Retail industry is one of the highest employment generators in Indian economy.  As the number of new retail stores is increasing everyday in India, there is large requirement of retail management professionals for achieving store sales and profitability, processing all merchandise shipments, communication with the clients to achieve their administration of stores, satisfaction etc.

Eligibility: -
For admission in graduation course in Retail Management one should have completed his 10+2 education. Common Admission Retail Test is a national level test which a candidate can take. This test is  the basis for admission to Postgraduate Programme in Retail Management (PGPRM) offered in 15 B-Schools across India. Candidates applying for CART must hold a bachelors degree with 50% marks.

Careers in Interior Designing

Designing is a mix of artistic talents and creativity. Interior designing involves arrangement of living space inside the rooms, organizing, managing and planning of the interiors of rooms at homes, offices, showrooms, retail shops, hotels, airports, exhibition halls, conference centers, theatres, TV and film studios and commercial establishments etc. The main job of the interior designer is to use the available space of the building creatively and prudently to give best look and feel of the space within a predefined budget. Most interior designers specialize in a specific area. Some specialization under interior designing is business design, residential design landscape design, kitchen design, and bathroom design. Careers in Nutrition and Dietetics


Dietetics is the science and art of dealing with food and nutrition to promote health. This field is gaining more importance because of the change in lifestyle. Nowadays due to fast life, people eat fast food for instant gratification. Fast food is not good for health and it leads to various health problems. As the people are becoming aware of the various side effects of fast food they are now moving to the nutritious food.  And that’s how the demand for dieticians is increasing in the market.

A dieticians work involves planning meals depending upon clients age, sickness or work routine, counsel and educate them about healthy eating- selection and preparation of food items according to the principles of nutrition and evaluate and make changes in their clients diet periodically.

Eligibility
For admission in bachelor’s degree in nutrition & dietetics one should pass 10+2 in any stream. Other then this candidate can pursue B.Sc. in home science. The three-year B.Sc. Home science course covers subjects including food and nutrition.
For M.Sc. in Home science one should have a three year bachelor’s degree in food science, home science, hotel management & catering technology, microbiology, biochemistry and medicine. One year diploma courses are also available at postgraduate level.
