Automobile engineering deals with
the study as how to design, manufacture and operate automobiles like trucks, buses,
cars etc. and also their respective
engineering subsystems. This can also be a grouped under vehicle engineering.
An automobile engineer’s main task
is to design, test and develop vehicles and components from concept stage
through to production stage. Once launched in market the engineer need to
improve the vehicle based on the customer feedback.
Automobile engineers can
specialize in the areas such as alternative fuels, chassis, aerodynamics, electronics,
emissions, ergonomics, materials, motorsport, manufacturing, power train, rapid prototyping, vehicle and
pedestrian safety or supply chain management etc. The main responsibility of
automobile engineer is to always maintain the high standard of vehicle by using
the state-of-the-art technology.
In recent times, owing to the
rapid demand of cars and other vehicles, the demand for skilled professionals
has also been increased considerably. Hence opting for a career in automobile
engineering will be interesting as well as rewarding.
Eligibility
An aspirant of automobile
engineering should pass his 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

With the increasing demand of
vehicles in market, the demand of qualified and skilled automobile engineers
has also been increased in recent times. There are many private automobiles companies
in India, offering great salary packages to the automobile engineers.
There are good Job opportunities
in foreign countries including the Middle East. In Middle East the pay scales
are good and opportunities are many.
