Designing is a mix
of artistic talents and creativity. Interior designing involves arrangement of
living space inside the rooms, organizing, managing and planning of the
interiors of rooms at homes, offices, showrooms, retail shops, hotels,
airports, exhibition halls, conference centers, theatres, TV and film studios
and commercial establishments etc. The main job of the interior designer is to
use the available space of the building creatively and prudently to give best
look and feel of the space within a predefined budget. Interior designing
profession caught the attention of people in recent times when some Bollywood celebrities
entered in this field.
Most interior
designers specialize in a specific area. Some specialization under interior
designing is business design, residential design landscape design, kitchen design,
and bathroom design. With a client’s tastes, needs, and budget in mind,
interior designers prepare drawings and specifications for non-load-bearing
interior construction, this includes choice and decoration of walls, floors,
roofs, choice and placement of furniture and other indoor objects, window
treatments and other indoor objects, lighting and control of visual and sound
effects.
Eligibility
For admission in 4
years Bachelor of fine Arts (BFA) program one should pass 10+2 in any stream.
A person can pursue master’s
course after completion of their graduation in interior designing.

Remuneration
A fresher can start his career with a salary of Rs.8, 000 to Rs.10,
000 pm. With experience the salary may surge up to Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000 per
month. The best jobs will go to those with talent, education, and experience in
this field.
